We are a video game development studio with offices in Guildford, UK and Utrecht, Netherlands. The Role
A new Senior UI Engineer position has opened in our Guildford studio for someone keen to develop user interfaces and systems for our titles. This role will work closely with UI Artists, Designers and Engineers to create intuitive UI experiences for our players. As a Senior UI Engineer you will:
- Design, implement, and optimize UI features and systems
- Collaborate with designers and artists to create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces
- Work closely with the engineering team to ensure efficient integration of UI elements into the game
- Debug and resolve UI-related issues and performance bottlenecks
- Stay up-to-date with the latest UI design trends and best practices
- Contribute to the overall improvement of UI development processes
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience as a software engineer, with a focus on UI development
- Strong proficiency in C++ and object-oriented programming
- Experience with UI development using frameworks in Unreal Engine
- Familiarity with UI design principles and best practices
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Excellent collaboration and communication abilities to work with multidisciplinary teams
Bonus Points
- Proficiency in one or more additional programming languages
- Experience with 3D diegetic UI development using material and shader
- Previous experience building large-scale, real-time, multiplayer games
