The Role: We have an opening for a Senior Physics Engineer to join our rapidly growing team at Stellar Entertainment to work on an exciting new project. If creating believable, physically accurate worlds pushing the next level of video games is your passion, then this role could be for you. Reporting to the Lead Physics Engineer and partnering with our Creative Director and gameplay teams, your code will create realism within our high-quality titles.
As a Senior Physics Engineer, you will:
- Be able to demonstrate expert-level knowledge of 3D mathematics and classical physics
- Have great C++ and the ability to architect and debug large systems
- Have professional knowledge of at least one physics engine, e.g. PhysX, or Havok
- Professional ability to debug physics stability issues
- Understand how to translate “Designer Speak” into Newtonian equations
- Have a passion for problem-solving
- Demonstrate experience of working closely with cross-discipline teams to understand their needs
Requirements: What we’re looking to see on your CV:
- Solid understanding of (3D) maths, collision detection, multithreaded programming, game physics and game engines on a level you could write your own game physics engine
- Solid debugging and optimisation skills in C++
- An understanding of software security and how to minimize vulnerabilities through system design
Bonus points if you have:
- At least one, or two extra languages under your belt
- Previous experience in building large scale, realtime, multiplayer games
