Are you an innovative thinker with collaborative leadership skills and a passion for risk management? We’re looking for a Head of Corporate Underwriting to join our Risk team in Cardiff or Redhill. In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee corporate credit underwriting operations across the UK, ensuring sound practices, regulatory compliance, and portfolio quality. You’ll combine expertise with inclusive leadership to improve processes, manage risk effectively, and support business growth.
What you’ll be doing:
- Guide credit underwriting operations for dealer and fleet portfolios, ensuring KPIs are achieved.
- Make informed credit decisions within delegated lending authority and present significant exposures to the Stellantis Global Loan Committee.
- Identify early warning signals and address below-standard credits to strengthen portfolio quality.
- Champion continuous improvement in underwriting processes and decision-making frameworks.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Lead and mentor a team of credit analysts, fostering an inclusive and growth-oriented culture.
Who we’re looking for:
- Extensive experience in credit underwriting and managing large corporate credit portfolios.
- Inclusive leadership skills and the ability to manage risk, compliance, and oversight activities.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Adaptable and flexible approach to complex challenges.
- Fluent English (verbal and written).
- Professional qualifications in economics or related fields and experience in wholesale or captive finance environments are highly desirable.
