The Copy & Social Assistant will be a highly organised and creative multi-tasker working closely with Copy and Social departments to support seasonal messaging across Stella McCartney’s online owned channels. You will assist in applying copy guidelines to ensure brand alignment and correct use of our voice across social media, product descriptions, website content and newsletters – helping to drive engagement, storytelling and sales whilst adhering to industry-standard best practices. The Stella McCartney tone of voice is key to our brand storytelling and character, capturing the essence of who we are whilst communicating our sustainable and ethical values. In addition to supporting editorial initiatives, the ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of social media platforms and digital culture, with an enthusiasm for fashion, sustainability and storytelling. A background in luxury/sustainable fashion and/or journalism/literature is preferable.

Your Mission

  • Supporting the creation of compelling copy across digital channels with an eye on storytelling, engagement and brand consistency.
  • Assisting with writing and editing fashion product descriptions and sustainability information for stellamccartney.com.
  • Supporting the management of multiple social media accounts through caption writing, copy editing and publishing assistance.
  • Helping to maintain and evolve Stella McCartney’s tone of voice across all digital touchpoints.
  • Supporting the Head of Copy and Storytelling, Social Media Manager and wider team as needed.
  • Writing engaging copy across digital platforms and assisting with captions and transcripts for video content.
  • Creating and supporting with editorial content creation for Stella’s World – our online editorial platform and key consumer-facing communication tool.
  • Reviewing and updating website and social copy to ensure alignment with the latest collections, sustainability messaging and brand tone of voice.
  • Working closely with the Ecommerce team to support newsletter campaigns, homepage and landing page messaging, ensuring all content speaks to our consumer whilst supporting sales objectives.
  • Assisting with copy creation for product labelling and creative concepts where required.
  • Assisting the Social Media Manager with scheduling and publishing content across social media platforms using social media management tools.
  • Supporting day-to-day community management by monitoring user-generated-content (UGC), engaging with audiences, and responding to comments, tags and mentions featuring the brand.
  • Supporting the execution and planning of social media campaigns and content calendars across multiple platforms.
  • Collaborating with the Social Media Manager to develop and maintain social media rollout and copy documents for upcoming campaigns and content launches.
  • Regularly monitoring fashion, cultural and social media trends to stay informed on industry conversations and emerging opportunities.
  • Supporting the creation of presentations and decks when required.

Your Talent

  • Strong writing and editing skills with an understanding of digital and social-first communication.
  • Relevant experience at a luxury fashion or sustainable brand, or within a publishing/editorial environment.
  • Relevant degree or professional background in communications, fashion, English literature, journalism – marketing and/or sustainability knowledge is a bonus.
  • A portfolio or examples of work demonstrating copywriting and/or social media experience.
  • Confident individual with a positive ethos and a passion for storytelling and digital culture.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and evolving digital trends.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with confidence sharing ideas within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in using Google Drive, Microsoft Office and Mac suites.
  • Familiarity with social media scheduling tools, CMS platforms and basic SEO principles.
  • A creative mindset with the ability to adapt writing styles across social, editorial and ecommerce channels.
  • A passion for fashion, sustainability and storytelling.
