Reporting to the Head of PR, UK, the Archive Manager will maintain and organise Stella McCartney’s extensive fashion archives, which include a range of products and materials from previous collections.

Term & Location

Term: 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role is based at the London Head Office, with regular weekly travel to off‑site storage in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the archive inventory across all product categories, split into founders personal archive and business archive.
  • Collaborate with the PR sample team at the end of each sample season to separate items for archiving.
  • Ensure proper care of inventory products, including key custom and celebrity items.
  • Maintain archive inventory on Fashion GPS.
  • Lead the archive re‑organisation project across multiple teams under the Storage Director.
  • Organise and catalogue archive items, ensuring they are easily accessible for research and inspiration.
  • Work with creative and design teams to identify key pieces and collections for upcoming projects.
  • Research preservation techniques to ensure garments are stored following best practice to prevent damage or deterioration.
  • Coordinate the loan of archive items for projects such as museum exhibitions, ensuring all necessary arrangements and contracts are finalized and logged.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify opportunities for utilising the archives.
  • Handle items in diverse formats and conditions, following manual handling and working‑at‑height procedures.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with best practice garment preservation and conservation preferred.
  • Experience with manual handling of lifting and carrying boxes and garment clothing bags.
  • Ability to work in both office and warehouse environments.
  • Previous experience using Fashion GPS preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Able to project‑manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Self‑starter capable of working unsupervised as part of a team.
