With unprecedented momentum and growth, we're looking for an experienced Account Director to join our UK team. This is a strategic client leadership role, responsible for owning account direction, driving commercial growth, leading complex integrated programmes, and building trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders.
At Stein, our account teams carry full accountability for project delivery and client success. As an Account Director, you will oversee multiple accounts and priorities, drive operational excellence, identify growth opportunities, lead pitches and proposals, and support the development of the wider client services team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the strategic direction and day-to-day senior client relationships across multiple accounts.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, building strong partnerships and delivering exceptional service.
- Identify and drive opportunities for account growth, revenue generation and long-term client value.
- Lead the integration of brand and demand across channel, media, creative, content and messaging to drive business growth.
- Lead complex pitches and proposals, including shaping the narrative, strategic approach and commercial recommendations.
- Drive commercial performance across accounts, ensuring profitability and effective budget management.
- Oversee operational delivery across multiple accounts and cross-functional teams.
- Ensure efficient project execution, delivery quality, profitability and adherence to timelines.
- Lead the resolution of complex delivery challenges, risks and client escalations.
- Manage resourcing across accounts, balancing team capacity and project demands.
- Own scope and Statement of Work (SOW) management, proactively identifying and addressing scope creep.
- Drive process improvement initiatives and champion operational best practice.
- Champion AI-enabled efficiencies and innovative ways of working across accounts and teams.
- Coach and support Account Managers, helping to develop future talent within the agency.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: 7+ years' experience within a marketing, advertising or communications agency, with a proven track record of leading and growing client accounts.
- Strategic Thinking: Strong understanding of integrated B2B marketing, ABM principles, digital channels and B2B buyer journeys, with the ability to translate client objectives into impactful strategies.
- Project Management: Confident owning end-to-end delivery - timelines, resourcing, budgets and scope management.
- Client Leadership: Experienced in managing senior stakeholders, building long-term trusted relationships and confidently navigating complex client environments.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong commercial awareness with experience driving account growth, managing profitability, leading commercial conversations and protecting agency revenue through effective scope management.
- Drive & Passion: A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for delivering meaningful business impact, exceptional client experiences and world-class creative solutions.
- Leadership & Collaboration: A natural leader and mentor who can inspire teams, influence stakeholders and foster collaboration across disciplines.
