Objectives
- Complete the migration of the 61 Business Objects reports exclusive to UK/IE to Power BI, within the 2026 deadlines.
- Validate and sign off on Power BI replacements already delivered by the global data team that have not yet been reviewed by the UK market.
- Develop net‑new Power BI dashboards to address critical operational gaps not covered by the migration backlog.
- Act as the local technical bridge between the UK business teams and the Volvo Group global data team.
- Document all delivered reports and transfer knowledge to enable ongoing maintenance.
Phase 1 – Onboarding and discovery (months 1‑2)
- Review the full BO report backlog for UK/IE (109 reports) using the list maintained by the global team.
- Classify reports as must‑have, review‑needed or candidates for decommission in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Gain access to the Volvo Group data lake and Power BI environment.
- Align with the global data team on architecture, data sources and development standards.
- Produce a prioritised migration plan with delivery milestones.
Phase 2 – Migration and critical deliverables (months 2‑7)
- Migrate must‑have BO reports to Power BI, starting with those used daily by Operations (activations, payout, open invoices).
- Validate Power BI reports already built by the global team – UAT sign‑off for UK business users.
- Build credit line dashboard: credit limit, on/off balance sheet exposure, and unfunded approvals from Connect for use by the Credit and Commercial teams.
- Investigate and resolve D+1 data latency issue affecting the customer portal, assess feasibility of intraday refresh.
- Evolve the existing Power BI sales report to include individual Territory Manager performance and pipeline visibility for deals pending payout.
- Investigate VDA data gap cross‑reference invoiced‑to entity with end customer for commercial sales analysis.
- Prioritise all items above.
Phase 3 – Stabilisation and handover (months 7‑9)
- Complete remaining report migrations and address any compatibility issues arising from the SAP BO 4.3 platform upgrade.
- Produce documentation for all delivered Power BI reports: data sources, refresh schedule, DAX logic and business rules.
- Conduct knowledge transfer sessions with UK stakeholders.
