Overview:

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Power BI and a proven track record of building interactive, insightful dashboards and reports that enable data driven decision making. This position will work within GPL PMO to gather requirements and transform raw data into actionable insights through high quality visualizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy visually appealing and interactive Power BI dashboards and reports for a variety of stakeholders.
  • Work with business teams to understand data requirements, KPIs, and reporting needs.
  • Extract, clean, and transform data from various sources (databases, Excel, etc.) to build reports.
  • Implement and optimize data models to support performance and user-friendly visualizations.
  • Create calculated measures, DAX queries, and data relationships to enhance dashboards’ accuracy and functionality.
  • Ensure the reliability and security of the data used in dashboards, adhering to best practices for data governance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with Power BI reports, data discrepancies, or performance problems.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in Power BI (with a strong portfolio of previous dashboard projects).
  • Strong proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for creating measures, calculated columns, and reports.
  • Hands-on experience with data modeling and structuring data for efficient querying and reporting.
  • Knowledge of integrating Power BI with multiple data sources (SQL, Excel, SharePoint, web services, APIs, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Power BI Service (publishing, sharing reports, and creating workspaces).
  • Excellent understanding of data visualization best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with non-technical stakeholders and adapt to their needs.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of additional BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with other Microsoft technologies like SQL Server, Azure, or Office 365.
  • Experience in data governance and security practices in BI.
