At Langdons, we’re growing and looking for an HGV Trailer Technician to help keep our fleet safe and reliable, ensuring our 400+ trailers are serviced and repaired efficiently, cost‑effectively, and in line with company and regulatory standards. We understand that flexibility matters. Part‑time arrangements may be considered and can be discussed at interview; however, please note that this role will still require working within the rotating shift pattern. What you will be doing:

  • Ensuring trailers are repaired and maintained in accordance with prescribed standards
  • Preparing and presenting trailers for MOT inspections
  • Diagnosing trailer‑related defects using available diagnostic equipment and arranging for relevant action to be taken
  • Liaising with trailer manufacturers regarding acquiring parts and replacement vehicles, keeping key colleagues informed of progress where necessary
  • Ensuring high levels of safety and cleanliness at all times and that required housekeeping duties meet required standards
  • Updating and maintaining appropriate digital records and ensuring all relevant information is shared with relevant departments on a timely basis

Why join Langdons?

At Langdons, our fleet keeps the UK and Ireland supplied with chilled and frozen food around the clock. With over 375 vehicles and 11 depots, it’s a large, well‑run operation, and we’re continuing to grow. That makes this a great time to join. As we expand, our workshop team plays a vital role in keeping everything moving safely and efficiently, with real opportunities to develop and progress.

Benefits:

  • Annual pay reviews to recognise your contribution
  • Company sick pay for added peace of mind
  • Long service bonus to celebrate your loyalty
  • Free on‑site parking for convenience every day
  • Full uniform provided so you’re ready to go
  • Ongoing training & development, including apprenticeship opportunities
  • Employee Assistance Programme plus a staff discount scheme

What we’re looking for:

  • Do you hold a Class 1 licence (preferred but not essential)?
  • Do you have a strong mechanical background with hands‑on experience?
  • Are you Level 2 qualified, time‑served, or IRTEC trained?
  • Do you feel confident using transport repair tools and diagnostic software?
  • Can you follow procedures while also problem‑solving and making sound judgements when needed?

Think this could be your next move? We’d love to hear from you.
