About the role

Do you have a passionate interest in the UK, European and global airports sector, highly analytical mindset, strong communication skills and an ability to challenge assumptions? Are you comfortable working across technical, commercial and strategic questions, and keen to develop your advisory skills in a consulting environment? As a specialist in airport planning, airport infrastructure, building design, engineering advisory or capital investment programmes, you will be joining a highly motivated and friendly team providing advice to a wide range of private and public-sector clients, including airports, airlines, financial institutions, industry bodies, and economic regulators.

Our work includes:

  • Airport capital development and infrastructure programmes, including business case reviews, capital investment plans, cost benchmarking, benefits assessment and delivery risk analysis;
  • Air traffic forecasts, business plans (aeronautical and non-aeronautical revenues, operating costs, EBITDA and capital investments) for airports and financial institutions;
  • Aviation policy and advice to regulators on a wide range of economic/competition issues;
  • Market and strategic analysis to all our clients.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver technical analyses relating to airport infrastructure, capital investment programmes, aviation forecasts and business plans.
  • Undertake report writing and presentations to clients.
  • Lead workstreams and/or projects.
  • Lead or support the delivery of high‑quality proposals.
  • Lead or support business development.
  • Share knowledge and contribute to discipline development.

Key competencies and experience:

  • Have a degree with strong technical content such as in Engineering, Airport Planning, and Transport Planning.
  • Strong analytical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
  • Professional experience in airport planning, airport infrastructure, airport advisory, engineering consultancy, asset management or capital programme delivery.
  • Willingness to develop expertise across other aviation advisory disciplines including traffic forecasting, business planning, economic regulation, strategy and transaction support.
  • Excellent time management with the ability to juggle time across multiple projects and prioritise deadlines seamlessly.
  • Excellent proficiency in oral and written English.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical details clearly to non‑technical audiences.
  • Client facing and/or client‑side experience.
  • Good team player, able to work collaboratively.

Desirable competencies and experience:

  • Fluency in other languages from Europe, the Americas and Asia is a bonus but not essential.
  • Experience of policy work (such as for the European Commission or the Department for Transport).
  • Interest in sustainability matters.
