Traffic Modeller â Senior Consultant / Principal Consultant

Steer\âs Feasibility Design practice is seeking to expand our successful traffic modelling offer through recruitment of a modeller to join our London-based team to deliver a broad portfolio of projects.
The traffic modelling role will primarily involve leading the development of microsimulation and local traffic models, providing technical expertise and advice to clients and colleagues and contributing to the future growth of the business. Our Feasibility Design team works together to help clients deliver some of the highest profile transport and development projects in the UK and overseas. This includes supporting clients to deliver multiâmodal highway schemes for projects ranging from liveable neighbourhoods, Wembley Stadium event cap mitigation, Canary Wharf development and active travel and bus corridors across London and Manchester.
The models you produce will feed into the development of sustainable, multiâmodal highways solutions and an awareness of such design considerations would also be an advantage. You will support a range of projects such as bus priority and cycle improvement schemes from feasibility to detailed design stages. You will also support the team by providing analysis relating to operation of mixedâuse developments on aspects such as pedestrian comfort levels, servicing capacity and traffic management requirements.
Requirements
Experience/skills required:
Strong level of experience with LinSig and Vissim (or other microsimulation software)
Experience of TfL\âs Model Audit Process would be beneficial
Lead the analysis of multiâmodal modelling assessments with support from the wider design team
Working knowledge of traffic modelling standards and guidance
Manage subâconsultants and support staff on a project basis as required
Deliver key tasks on a range of projects
Prepare and present reports, proposals, briefing notes and design reports
Manage project budgets exercising effective financial and budgetary control
Take part in training to develop both technical and consultancy skills
To be successful in the role, you will
Be comfortable working in multiâdisciplinary teams and provide positive contributions in resolving complex design problems
Take responsibility for key tasks and workstreams
Demonstrate strong analytical skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
Hold relevant academic qualifications or professional experience

Compensation
Steer is committed to ensuring that all its employees are compensated a fair, livable wage. All initial compensation, regardless of location, may be subject to change as skills, abilities, internal equity and geographic location are taken into account.
In addition to base salary, all employees will be eligible for an annual discretionary performance bonus.
Steer reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional compensation.
Work Environment
All Steer employees seeking a fullâtime opportunity are encouraged to spend 60% of their time either in the office or onâsite with clients. An employee\âs typical work week consists of 37.5 hours.
