Steer Staffing are currently recruiting for 7.5 tonne Delivery Drivers to join a distribution and delivery company based in Bristol. You will be delivering customers' orders to their houses and office sites, working with a Drivers Mate to support you on all deliveries. Route plans are put together for your daily work, along with your vehicle being loaded with the products.
The shifts are 5 days on and 3 days off, on a rota basis, with two 30-minute breaks, morning and afternoon. A DBS check will be required for this role.
The duties of the 7.5 tonne Delivery Driver include:
- Delivering customers' orders to their houses or workplaces
- Delivering various products including washing machines, tumble dryers, and fridge freezers
- Lifting items from the vehicle and completing a multi-drop driving role
- Ensuring the right products get to the right places at the right time
- Working with a Drivers Mate
- Following a delivery route, which is compiled for you each day
- Pre-calling customers before arrival
- Filling in paperwork as and when required
- Removing all packaging from each delivery
- Your vehicle will be loaded ready for you to collect each morning
The ideal 7.5 tonne Delivery Driver will have:
- Experience within a similar role
- New passes are accepted
- A full Class C1 UK/EA licence with no more than six penalty points
- A current CPC card and Tachograph card
- A passion for delivering great customer service
- The ability to handle heavy goods
The hours of work for the 7.5 tonne Delivery Driver are 5 days on and 3 days off, covering any 5 days from Monday to Sunday. You must be available to work between the hours of 7.00am and 6.15pm. The salary for the 7.5 tonne Delivery Driver will be Β£13.60 per hour, with overtime paid at time and a half over 45 hours per week.
