Steer Staffing are currently recruiting for 7.5 tonne Delivery Drivers, to join a distribution and delivery company based in Leeds. You will be delivering customers' orders to their houses and office sites, working with a Drivers Mate to support you on all deliveries. Route plans are put together for your daily work, and your vehicle is pre-loaded each morning. The shifts are 5 days on and 3 days off, on a rota basis, with two 30-minute breaks, morning and afternoon. The role is on a 12-week temp-to-perm basis, providing a fantastic opportunity to secure a job with a well-established, reputable company that will invest in you. Responsibilities:

  • Lifting heavy items and completing a multi-drop driving role
  • Ensuring the right products get to the right places at the right time
  • Installing a range of various products for customers
  • Following a delivery route
  • Pre-calling customers before arrival
  • Filling in paperwork as and when required
  • Removing all packaging from each delivery

Qualifications:

  • Experience within a similar role
  • A full Class C1 UK/EA licence with no more than six penalty points
  • CPC card
  • Tachograph card
  • A passion for delivering great customer service
  • The ability to handle heavy goods
  • A clean DBS

Hours of work:

The hours of work for the 7.5 tonne Delivery Driver are 5 days on 3 days off, covering any 5 days from Monday to Sunday. You must be available to work between the hours of 7.00am - 6.15pm. If the deliveries are completed early, you will finish early, as long as no one else needs support.

Salary:

The salary for the 7.5 tonne Delivery Driver will be £13.60 per hour, on a 12-week temp-to-perm basis. Any hours over 45 will be paid at time and a half.
