Vehicle Damage Assessor – Sunderland
Join Steer Automotive Group, one of the UK's leading accident repair groups.
We are looking for an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor (VDA) / Estimator to join our busy accident repair centre in Sunderland.
If you have experience in vehicle damage assessment, accident repair estimating or working within a bodyshop environment, we'd love to hear from you.
This is a great opportunity for a skilled VDA to join a growing business, working alongside an experienced workshop team to deliver accurate repair estimates and high-quality vehicle repairs.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assessing accident-damaged vehicles and preparing accurate repair estimates using Audatex or similar estimating systems.
- Identifying repair methods, parts and labour requirements in line with manufacturer and insurer guidelines.
- Working closely with our panel beaters, paint technicians, MET technicians and parts team to ensure repairs progress efficiently.
- Liaising with insurance companies, engineers and customers regarding vehicle damage assessments and repair authorisations.
- Ensuring all estimates and repair documentation are accurate, compliant and completed within required timescales.
- Supporting the smooth running of the bodyshop and helping maintain high standards of repair quality.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor, VDA, Bodyshop Estimator or Accident Repair Estimator.
- Experience using Audatex or similar vehicle estimating software.
- A good understanding of vehicle repair methods, accident damage assessment and insurance repair processes.
- ATA VDA accreditation or willingness to work towards it.
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in a busy bodyshop.
- A positive, team-focused approach with good communication skills.
