Steer Automotive Group is seeking an experienced Bodyshop Manager to lead our busy Sunderland commercial bodyshop, working across cars and light commercial vehicles (LCV). This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Bodyshop Manager, Workshop Manager, or Accident Repair Manager to take full responsibility for site performance, operational leadership, and team development within a fast-paced environment.
Role Overview:
You will oversee the day-to-day running of a high-volume accident repair centre, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and consistently high standards of repair quality and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of a busy automotive bodyshop operation
- Lead, support, and develop a team of technicians, painters, and estimators
- Drive productivity, efficiency, and workflow performance
- Ensure repair quality meets manufacturer and insurer standards
- Monitor KPIs, financial performance, and operational targets
- Maintain strong relationships with customers and insurance partners
- Oversee turnaround times and continuous process improvement
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Bodyshop Manager / Workshop Manager / Accident Repair Manager
- Strong background in automotive or accident repair operations
- Experience working with cars and LCVs (essential)
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Ability to perform in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Commercial vehicle experience is desirable but not essential
