We're looking for a skilled and motivated Diagnostic Technician to join our expert team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a modern, well-equipped workshop where your technical expertise will play a vital role in ensuring vehicles are repaired safely, accurately, and to manufacturer standards. You'll also support the wider Steer network by providing specialist diagnostic expertise across multiple sites when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out advanced diagnostic procedures to accurately identify vehicle faults and determine the most effective repair solutions.
- Perform pre-repair and post-repair diagnostic scans to ensure all faults have been identified, rectified, and cleared before vehicle handover.
- Complete scheduled vehicle servicing and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications and service schedules.
- Diagnose and rectify complex mechanical and electrical faults using manufacturer-approved diagnostic equipment and repair methods.
- Carry out ADAS calibrations following repairs.
- Produce clear and accurate diagnostic reports, documenting findings, repairs, and recommendations.
- Work closely with workshop production teams to maximise workshop efficiency.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with manufacturer repair methods, company procedures, and health and safety standards.
- Provide mobile diagnostic support to other repair centres across the Steer network when required.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as a diagnostic technician
- Excellent diagnostic, analytical and problem-solving skills
- A methodical approach with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Level 3 EV Level 4 Advance Diagnostic Electronics
- Experience with ECU Programming, reading and re-coding
- The ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and effectively manage your own workload
- Full UK driving licence
