What you’ll be doing
- Repairing and replacing damaged vehicle body panels
- Carrying out structural and chassis repairs in line with manufacturer repair methods
- Using welding equipment, jigs, fixtures and specialist bodyshop equipment safely and effectively
- Assessing damaged panels and determining the appropriate repair method
- Dismantling and reassembling vehicles as required during the repair process
- Ensuring all repairs are completed to a consistently high standard
- Working closely with MET Technicians, Paint Technicians, VDAs and the wider bodyshop team
- Identifying and communicating any additional damage or repair requirements
- Keeping your tools, equipment and working area clean, organised and safe
- Following manufacturer procedures, health and safety requirements and safe working practices
- Keeping your technical knowledge up to date through ongoing training and development
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience carrying out vehicle panel and body repairs
- Strong panel beating, panel replacement and repair skills
- Experience working within an accident repair centre, bodyshop or automotive repair environment
- Knowledge of modern vehicle repair methods and manufacturer standards
- A strong eye for detail and commitment to quality
- The ability to work effectively as part of a busy bodyshop team
- Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent would be beneficial, although we’re also interested in hearing from experienced technicians with strong practical bodyshop experience.
