We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Vehicle Damage Assessor! Steer Automotive Group is a leading automotive repair business, with a reputation for providing high-quality service and customer satisfaction. Due to continued business growth, we are seeking an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor (VDA) to join the team at our new Komoo - Powered By Steer site in Edinburgh and ensure accurate, professional assessments for a wide range of vehicles, including electric and hybrid vehicles.

About the Job:

As a VDA Estimator with Steer, your primary responsibility will be to assess vehicle damage, utilising Audatex to calculate costings and the time required to complete necessary repairs accurately and professionally. You will regularly liaise with insurance engineers and customers, creating precise damage assessments in accordance with BSI PAS 10125 standards and using the correct repair methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess a wide range of vehicles, including electric and hybrid vehicles, and use Audatex to calculate accurate repair costings and time requirements.
  • Liaise regularly with insurance engineers and customers.
  • Create precise damage assessments to BSI PAS 10125 standards, using correct repair methods.
  • Plan your workload effectively to ensure vehicles are repaired to the agreed service level agreements (SLA’s).
  • Carry out work in accordance with manufacturers' specifications.
  • Maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Be flexible in your approach and continually strive for high standards with customer satisfaction in mind.

About You:

We are looking for an experienced VDA, with extensive working knowledge of estimating damage costs for accident repair. You will be:

  • Confident in using Audatex for assessments.
  • Experience and training in estimating damage costs for all types of vehicles, including hybrid and electric.
  • Able to plan and prioritise your workload effectively.
  • Capable of working to a high standard in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to adhere to manufacturers' specifications.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible in your approach and committed to achieving high standards with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Ideally hold an ATA qualification in estimating and we will support in renewing this.
