Are you an experienced Bodyshop Manager, Site Manager or Accident Repair Centre Manager looking for your next opportunity?
Steer Automotive Group is recruiting an experienced and commercially driven Site Manager to lead our accident repair centre in Darlington, County Durham.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proven automotive leader who understands the demands of a busy accident repair environment and knows how to deliver strong operational performance while building and developing a successful team.
As Site Manager, you'll take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the bodyshop, ensuring the site operates efficiently, achieves its financial targets and consistently delivers high standards of vehicle repair and customer service.
What You'll Be Doing
As our Site Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Taking full ownership of site performance, ensuring financial budgets, profitability and operational targets are achieved and exceeded.

Leading, motivating and developing a team of skilled accident repair professionals, creating a positive and high-performing working environment.

Overseeing the daily operations of the accident repair centre, ensuring vehicles progress efficiently through the repair process.

Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), including productivity, efficiency, repair quality, costs and customer satisfaction.

Managing recruitment, retention and workforce planning to ensure the site is appropriately staffed and operating effectively.

Driving continuous improvements across site performance, processes and overall operational efficiency.

Maintaining strong working relationships with customers, insurance partners, suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Ensuring health and safety standards, company procedures and repair quality requirements are consistently maintained.

Taking a proactive approach to identifying challenges, implementing solutions and supporting the continued success of the site.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a confident, hands-on leader with a strong understanding of the automotive accident repair industry.
Ideally, you'll bring:

Previous experience as a Bodyshop Manager, Site Manager, Accident Repair Centre Manager or General Manager within an automotive accident repair environment.

A proven track record of successfully managing site performance, financial budgets and operational targets.

Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to understand and improve profitability, productivity and efficiency.

Excellent people management skills, including recruitment, performance management, coaching and team development.

A solid understanding of accident repair processes, bodyshop workflows and repair quality standards.

The ability to make informed decisions, manage competing priorities and lead confidently in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

A proactive, results-focused approach with a genuine commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
