We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Bodyshop Manager to join our team and lead our Steer Commercial Coventry bodyshop to new heights of efficiency and excellence.

About the Role

As a Bodyshop Manager with Steer Commercial, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our bodyshop, ensuring that all repairs are completed to the highest standards. Your role will involve managing a team of skilled technicians, coordinating with insurance companies, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all bodyshop activities, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality repairs, in accordance with industry and manufacturer standards.
  • Supervise and lead a team of accident repair experts, including paint sprayers, panel beaters, MET technicians, estimators and all administrative staff, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
  • Understand the business needs, including accounts, reporting and KPIs.
  • Manage site resources and costs in order to maximise capability and profitability.
  • Coordinate with insurance companies, suppliers and customers to facilitate smooth repair processes, as well as actively and efficiently manage work provider and supplier relationships.
  • Monitor and control budgets, costs, and expenditures to meet financial targets.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, repair techniques, and best practices.
  • Conduct site recruitment and ensure time is prioritised for interviews to ensure vacancies are filled swiftly.

About You

We are looking for an exceptional and dynamic candidate with prior experience as a successful Bodyshop Site Manager, who is able to support and motivate the team to achieve daily, weekly and monthly site targets.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Bodyshop Manager within the automotive repair industry, with a knowledge and understanding of commercial vehicle repair.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of auto body repair techniques and industry standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, as well as being able to plan your workload effectively, efficiently and to agreed timescales.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Work skilfully and safely under pressure to ensure that all health and safety protocols are adhered to.
  • Be able to lead, manage and support the team, as well as work on your own initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Be flexible in your approach, ensuring that high standards and customer satisfaction are always kept in mind.
  • Proficiency in using bodyshop management software and other relevant tools.
