Apprenticeships at Steer Automotive Group offer a great opportunity to start a career in the accident repair industry. You will begin as a trainee technician gaining a Level 3 qualification in Paint, based at our accident repair centres, learning practical skills while earning, mentored by a senior technician. To start an apprenticeship with us, you need to:
- Be at least 16 years old
- Be willing to work Monday to Friday 8am β 4.30pm
- Commit to your apprenticeship for 3 years
- Grade 4 or above in Maths and English or Functional Skills Level 2
You will:
- Work five days a week
- Receive a uniform, starter kit, health & wellbeing support, and an experienced mentor
- Complete online e-learning where applicable
An apprenticeship Standard with Emtec Automotive College will include:
- A Level 3 qualification (assessed on the job)
- A technical certificate upon completion
- Employee rights and responsibilities
Objectives:
- Work under supervision to achieve competence and qualification
- Assess vehicle body repairs accurately
- Detect and diagnose faults for repair
- Ensure work safety and compliance with standards
- Evaluate safety systems and legislation
- Differentiate repair and replacement needs
- Estimate repair times and costs
- Communicate with stakeholders about damage and repairs
- Assess vehicle market value
- Obtain client approval for repairs
- Use estimating software
