We have an exciting opportunity for an orthotic technician to join our existing team in the leatherwork process of our Metal and Leatherwork department. The Role: Our aim is to create positive turning points through innovative prosthetic, orthotic and assistive technology products combined with continuously committed clinical services. Joining Steeper as a Leatherwork Technician means you’ll be part of a company which truly makes a difference to the quality of peoples’ lives. Responsibilities: As a leatherworker you will produce metalwork products such as BKs and KAFOs within leatherwork completing a finished product. This includes stitching, cutting, glueing and scouring of leather and padding. You will be responsible for making products that are bespoke and made to measure for an individual patient. As a technician it is highly important for orders to be actioned effectively and efficiently to satisfy the requirements of our patients and clinicians. What we are looking for: To do this role you will need to be confident at using hand tools, and excellent attention to detail. You’ll also need to be focused and able to demonstrate that you can operate in a high-pressure volume related environment, ensuring that all work undertaken is ready for delivery within the relevant timescales.
