Steelway Protect in Burnopfield, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, are Sheetmetal and steel security specialists, offering a range of accredited products certified to LPCB Standards. We provide a comprehensive service including design, survey, testing, manufacturing, installation, project management and service contracts.
This is a full-time on-site role for a Fabricator/Welder at Steelway Protect in Newcastle. The Fabricator/Welder will be responsible for:
- Fabricating and welding steel components
- Interpreting blueprints
- Operating welding equipment
- Ensuring the quality of finished products
- Keeping accurate records of electrical work performed
- Fabricating Sheetmetal components - 3mm Mild Steel / Mig Welding
- Dressing must be to a good standard
- Fabricating Structural Steel components in 6-15mm Mild Steel / Mig Welding
Candidate must be able to read Engineering drawings and be able to work on their own or as part of a team if required.
Essential Experience
- Proficiency in fabrication and welding techniques
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Experience in operating welding equipment
- Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols in welding
- Strong attention to detail and quality of work
- Physical dexterity and strength for manual tasks
- Certification in welding or related field is a plus
- Previous experience in steel fabrication industry is beneficial
