Join Our Team

We're looking for a part-time People & Culture Generalist to join our People & Culture team. This is a key role where you'll help deliver a high-quality HR service across the business, supporting managers and employees throughout the employee lifecycle while promoting employee wellbeing, positive working relationships and a strong workplace culture.

If you're an experienced HR professional who enjoys working with people, providing practical advice and finding solutions to everyday challenges, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

As a People & Culture Generalist, you'll play an important role in supporting the day-to-day delivery of HR activities across the business. Working closely with the People & Culture Manager, you'll provide guidance and support to managers and employees on a range of HR matters, helping to ensure policies, procedures and practices are applied consistently and in line with employment legislation.

You'll support employee relations, disciplinary processes, employee welfare, flexible working arrangements and occupational health activities, alongside maintaining accurate HR records, monitoring key HR performance indicators and supporting continuous improvement across the department.

Based primarily at our Orme Street site, the role will also involve occasional business meetings, off-site training and travel to other Company locations as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR support and guidance to managers and employees across the business.
  • Support the People & Culture Manager with employee relations matters, including disciplinary issues, redundancy and the application of HR policies and procedures.
  • Promote employee wellbeing and support welfare, flexible working and occupational health activities.
  • Assist with disciplinary processes, meetings and return-to-work reviews, escalating concerns where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential HR records, documentation and employee information.
  • Produce, monitor and review HR key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure intranet and non-commercial website content remains accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice, ensuring compliance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and enhance the employee experience.

About You

  • Be educated to A Level standard or equivalent and hold a CIPD Level 5 qualification.
  • Have 3–5 years' experience working within an HR function at a similar level.
  • Have sound knowledge of employment law, HR policies and procedures.
  • Have excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Be organised, detail-oriented and able to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Be approachable, empathetic and confident building positive working relationships with employees and managers.
  • Be able to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Have strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to make decisions within your level of authority.
  • Be proactive, adaptable and able to work independently as well as part of a team, with a genuine interest in employee wellbeing and continuous improvement.

Training

You'll receive support and guidance to help you succeed in the role and continue developing your HR knowledge and skills. Working closely with the People & Culture Manager and wider team, you'll have the opportunity to gain experience across a broad range of HR activities and contribute to the ongoing development of our people processes.

Any role-specific training and refresher training required will be provided in line with Company requirements.

We offer a competitive benefits package, including:

  • Company pension, free pension advice and life insurance.
  • Healthcare Cash Plan, Employee Assistance Programme, Occupational Health Screening and a Health & Wellbeing Programme.
  • Enhanced annual leave, enhanced maternity and paternity pay, bereavement leave and company sick pay.
  • Cycle to Work Scheme, discounted products and free on-site parking.
  • Employee referral scheme, Long Service Awards, Reward & Recognition Programme, company events and a pre-retirement scheme.

Why Join Us?

Joining our People & Culture team means becoming part of a supportive and professional environment where people, teamwork and continuous improvement are valued. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with managers and employees across the business, helping them navigate HR matters, supporting employee wellbeing and contributing to a positive workplace culture.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys a varied role and wants to make a meaningful contribution to both the employee experience and the success of the business.

If you're passionate about people, enjoy solving problems and want to help create a positive and supportive working environment, we'd love to hear from you.
