We're looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our People & Culture team. This is a key administrative role where you'll help ensure our employees are paid accurately and on time, while providing excellent support and maintaining high standards of payroll compliance and confidentiality.

About the Role
As a Payroll Administrator, you'll support the accurate processing of payroll activities across the business, ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time. You'll assist with holiday calculations, statutory payments, payroll reporting, pension administration and maintaining payroll records, while supporting the Payroll Manager with key payroll deadlines and year-end processes.
Working within the People & Culture Department, you'll play an important role in ensuring payroll processes are delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with relevant legislation. You'll liaise with managers and employees across the business, helping to resolve payroll queries and maintain accurate employee records.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure employees are paid accurately and within payroll deadlines.
- Complete payroll reporting in a timely and accurate manner.
- Carry out payroll administration duties including holiday calculations, statutory payments and payroll deductions.
- Support the Payroll Manager with payroll deadlines and year-end activities.
- Respond to payroll queries promptly and accurately.
- Maintain and update payroll records, including starter and leaver information.
- Process and maintain accurate payroll information within payroll systems.
- Administer pension arrangements as required.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and best practice.
- Support continuous improvement and identify opportunities to enhance payroll processes.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Company procedures and confidentiality requirements.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll:
- Hold GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English qualifications (Grades 4-9).
- Have a minimum of 12 months to 2 years' experience working within a Payroll Department within the last five years.
- Be familiar with computerised payroll systems.
- Have excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Be detail-oriented and enjoy working with numbers.
- Have strong organisational skills and consistently meet deadlines.
- Be reliable, professional and able to handle confidential information discreetly.
- Communicate effectively and provide excellent support to employees and managers.
- Be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of payroll processes and legislation.
Training
You'll receive full support and training to help you succeed in the role, including Manual Handling training and any refresher training required in the role.

Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 4:15pm, Friday: 8:00am - 3:00pm
