About the Role
Steelhaus Fabrications are looking for an experienced Laser Operator / Programmer with strong knowledge of AMADA laser machines and software. You will play a key role in producing precision‐cut components for heavy gauge steel fabrication.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and programme AMADA laser cutting machines
- Prepare and optimise cutting programs using AMADA software (e.g., Dr.ABE, VPSS, or equivalent)
- Set up materials, nozzles, lenses, and cutting parameters
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Carry out quality checks and ensure parts meet required tolerances
- Routine maintenance and cleaning of laser equipment
- Work closely with production to meet deadlines and workflow targets
- Ensure safe working practices at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience operating AMADA fibre or CO2 laser machines
- Ability to programme AMADA systems and optimise cutting paths
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication and material types
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Good eye for detail and high quality standards
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast‐paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
- Experience with nesting software
- Previous work in a steel fabrication environment
- Forklift licence
- Experience with additional machinery (press brake, deburrer, roller, etc.)
