Non-Executive Director
Location: Cardiff, Wales (with flexible working options)
Reports to: Chair of the Board
Key Responsibilities
- Provide independent oversight and challenge to the executive team on strategy, performance, and resources.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry obligations, including IDNO licence conditions.
- Monitor risk management, ensuring risks are properly identified and mitigated.
- Assess executive performance and ensure resources align with strategic goals.
- Review financial statements and maintain strong relationships with investment partners.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including shareholders, customers, and industry bodies.
- Maintain independence and provide objective, strategic advice.
- Attend and contribute to board and committee meetings.
- Stay informed on industry developments and promote long-term sustainability.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in the energy sector (Transmission/Distribution).
- Previous board-level experience, ideally in a non-executive capacity.
- Strong leadership background with expertise in strategy and governance.
- Proven ability to engage with investors, regulators, and stakeholders.
- Track record of guiding organisations from development to operation.
- Flexible and adaptable, able to commit at least two days per week.
- Strong financial acumen and risk management skills.
- Understanding of corporate governance and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Relevant degree or professional qualification preferred.
