Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced and capable Warehouse Manager to lead all warehouse operations on this high-care, high-risk site. The successful candidate will report into a highly successful and reputable Group Head of Logistics, and will be responsible for driving safety, service, and compliance across all warehouse activities—ensuring effective support to production, product integrity, and outstanding delivery performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the site warehouse team across all shifts, fostering a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure warehouse operations fully comply with BRCGS standards, retailer specifications, and internal food safety and quality protocols.
  • Oversee the receipt, storage, handling, and dispatch of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods in a chilled, high-care environment.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and traceability through disciplined stock control, segregation, and cycle count routines.
  • Drive and sustain high standards of hygiene, GMP, allergen control, and 5S across all warehouse areas.
  • Play a key role in audit readiness, including BRCGS and major retailer audits.
  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse operatives and team leaders, setting clear performance objectives and ensuring capability development.
  • Collaborate effectively with Production, Planning, Technical, and Logistics teams to optimise stock flow, reduce waste, and meet OTIF targets.
  • Utilise and continuously improve WMS/ERP tools for inventory control and operational visibility.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations and promote a zero-harm safety culture.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in a Warehouse Manager or similar role within a high-risk chilled food manufacturing environment.
  • Deep understanding of BRCGS and major UK retailer warehousing standards.
  • Strong track record in managing teams in high-care and allergen-sensitive operations.
  • Sound knowledge of HACCP principles, allergen management, and traceability.
  • Familiarity with WMS and ERP systems; strong IT literacy, including Excel and reporting tools.
  • Confident communicator with strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Health & Safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH) preferred.
