Steel Lintels Ireland is looking for a reliable and experienced Part-Time Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of steel lintels and related products to customers, builders' merchants and construction sites throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. This is an important customer-facing role, and we are looking for someone who is reliable, professional and takes pride in providing a high standard of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely load, secure and transport steel lintels and other company products.
- Deliver orders safely and on time to customers and building sites.
- Ensure products are handled carefully to prevent damage during loading, transportation and unloading.
- Assist with loading and unloading deliveries, including manual handling of steel products.
- Check delivery paperwork and ensure the correct products are delivered to the correct customer.
- Obtain customer signatures and delivery confirmations.
- Maintain accurate delivery records.
- Carry out basic vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Keep the company vehicle clean, tidy and in good condition.
- Follow all company Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.
- Represent Steel Lintels Ireland professionally when dealing with customers.
- Communicate any delivery issues, delays or customer queries to the office.
- Assist within the yard or warehouse when required between deliveries.
Requirements
- Full and valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle being driven.
- LGV licence would be preferred but is not essential.
- Previous delivery or commercial driving experience preferred.
- Experience transporting heavy goods, steel or construction materials would be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of roads of Northern Ireland and ROI.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, punctual and flexible.
- Physically capable of loading and unloading steel products.
- Good awareness of Health & Safety and manual handling requirements.
- Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules effectively.
