We are building a new healthcare clearinghouse. In the healthcare sector, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) requires that all insurance payers exchange transactions such as claims, eligibility checks, prior authorizations, and remittances using a standardized EDI format called X12 HIPAA. A small group of legacy clearinghouses process the majority of these transactions, offering consolidated connectivity to carriers and providers. Stedi is the world's only programmable healthcare clearinghouse. By offering modern API interfaces alongside traditional real-time and batch EDI processes, we enable both healthcare technology businesses and established players to exchange mission-critical transactions. Our clearinghouse product and customer-first approach have set us apart. Stedi was ranked as Ramp’s #3 fastest-growing SaaS vendor.
We are looking for an experienced IT Engineer to join our team to design, implement, and support the internal systems and infrastructure that power the Stedi platform and the team behind it. This role is critical to ensuring our employees can operate securely and efficiently, and that our internal IT environment scales alongside our rapidly growing business.
We use AWS exclusively for our customer-facing backend infrastructure, and we apply the same cloud-first mindset to our IT systems wherever possible. Our business systems rely on modern SaaS providers, including Google Workspace, Okta, GitHub, Slack, Notion, and other best-in-class tools. We automate wherever possible and treat internal infrastructure with the same rigor as production systems. We prioritize security, automation, and reliability. Access is managed through centralized identity providers and least-privilege principles. Wherever possible, we use APIs and infrastructure-as-code to reduce manual processes and improve repeatability.
What you’ll do:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure internal IT systems and processes
- Own identity and access management across cloud providers and SaaS applications
- Manage endpoint security, device lifecycle, and MDM solutions
- Aid with security operations across the organization, including access reviews, evidence gathering, and compliance initiatives
- Automate IT workflows using scripting and APIs to improve efficiency and reduce operational overhead
- Support company growth by building repeatable onboarding, offboarding, and access management processes
- Provide a seamless, high-quality IT experience for employees, ensuring new teammates are set up for success from day one
- Evaluate and implement new tools that improve productivity, reliability, and security
- Contribute to a culture of operational excellence through clear documentation and thoughtful communication
Who you are:
- 4+ years of experience in IT engineering, systems administration, or internal infrastructure roles
- Strong experience managing SaaS applications and identity providers (e.g., Okta, Google Workspace)
- Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-based infrastructure
- Experience with endpoint management and MDM solutions
- Comfortable automating workflows with scripting languages (e.g., Python, TypeScript, Bash)
- Security-minded with a strong understanding of access control, compliance, and risk management
- Able to prioritize work based on business needs and operate with high ownership
- High bandwidth; able to manage multiple systems and initiatives simultaneously
- Comfortable context switching as priorities evolve in a fast-moving environment
