Junior Business Development Manager – Defence & Communications

Steatite Communications is a market leader in advanced communications solutions, including Wave Relay® MANET systems. We are looking for a Junior Business Development Manager to join our growing team and help drive growth in the Defence, Intelligence, and commercial sectors.

What You Will Do:

• Build and nurture relationships with Defence and commercial clients.
• Identify new business opportunities and support the sales process.
• Consult with clients to design solutions that meet technical and operational requirements.
• Support product demonstrations, trials, events, and tradeshows.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Travel to meet clients and partners as required.

Who You Are:

You need a blend of technical knowledge, sales and business development experience, project and client management skills, and strong interpersonal communication abilities. Experience in Defence or commercial sectors is a big advantage.

• 1–2 years’ relevant experience, or a strong potential to grow into the role.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey ideas clearly, listen actively, and adapt communication to different stakeholders.
• Excellent at problem-solving/solution design: experience translating client requirements into practical, feasible solutions.
• Presentation & demonstration skills: ability to showcase products, explain technical features, and answer questions confidently.
• Motivated, adaptable, and ready to learn in a fast-paced Defence environment.
• Ideally have a background in Defence, ex-Armed Forces, or Defence communications.
• Understanding Tactical Communications systems and their deployment across Defence.
• Networking skills: ability to build professional networks and leverage them for business opportunities.

Desirable:

• Technical knowledge of networking, IP, RF, or MANET systems.
• Eligible for UK Government Security Clearance.
• Clean UK driving licence.
