The type of person we are looking for (About You)
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Sales Support professional to join our fast-paced Communications Business Unit.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting the Business Development team by creating quotes, consulting with customers, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure a smooth sales process.
A strong grasp of technology is essential, as the role involves understanding complex communication solutions, including part numbers and the functions of products such as MANET radio systems.
This position will primarily focus on UK-based clients, with occasional involvement in European sales activities. The successful candidate will be highly organised, with excellent communication and planning skills, and capable of managing multiple internal and external relationships. They will contribute to the full sales cycle by supporting the identification and progression of new opportunities, helping to drive growth across the Communications Business Unit.
The Role (What you\’ll be doing)
This Role Encompasses The Following Responsibilities
- Supporting the sales process and making sure that updated key sales information is in the software sales tools.
- Maintain good communications with the Senior Business Development Manager and the team.
- Create quotations as requested for review by the relevant business development manager.
- Take phone calls from customers and pass on relevant information to the business development manager.
- Help maintain spreadsheet information regarding pricing and products.
- Be part of maintaining key relationships with the main OEM suppliers.
- Work with the business development team in building and maintaining relationships with clients.
- Adhering to company policy and procedures.
- Adopt a consultative sales approach with clients and end users alike.
- Support experienced Business Development Managers with administrative tasks and internal coordination.
- Develop a strong understanding of the company\’s communication technologies, particularly MANET solutions.
- Collaborate with teams to deliver high-quality service to sophisticated clients, including the MoD and Government agencies.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and success of the Business Development function through proactive support and engagement.
- Experience with ERP and CRM systems
- Ad hoc tasking liaising between Comms BU and Contract Administration
Key Competencies
- Ability to understanding and work in the sales process.
- Collaborative approach and able to work effectively both internally and externally to the business.
- Willing to understand the technical aspects of the product offering.
- Data entry
- Experience with ERP and CRM systems
- Must be able to obtain basic UK Government Security Clearance.
- Ideally has a technical background that will help with understanding of wireless technology, specifically Wave Relay MANET.
- Clean Driving Licence.
- Defence/Government, Technical/communications and securitycompanies experience
