Join our Communications Business Unit as a Networking Engineer, where you will work with some of the most sophisticated customers, including the MoD and government agencies, delivering Wave Relay® MANET solutions that keep people connected in challenging environments.
The Role – What you will be doing:
- Lead the design, configuration, and integration of customer MANET networks.
- Serve as the technical lead and subject-matter expert for Wave Relay® solutions, including Cloud Relay.
- Create network documentation (diagrams, technical guides) and communicate complex scenarios to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support internal and external engineering demonstrations, system integration, and development testing.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to influence product development based on customer feedback.
- Provide on- and off-site customer support, training, and relationship building.
- Work on tactical programs such as Human-Machine Teaming networking, UAS solutions, and deployable voice and situational awareness applications.
The Person – Who we are looking for:
You are a confident, solutions-focused professional who thrives in hands-on, field-based environments. You enjoy working with advanced technology, solving technical problems, and collaborating with a team of experts. Ex-Armed Forces candidates will find this role particularly rewarding, as your operational experience and understanding of defence communications will be highly valued.
What You Will Need:
- Enterprise network integration experience, including VPN configuration and troubleshooting.
- 4+ years in IT, ideally with Service Management and Level 3 Technical Support experience.
- Cisco CCNA or equivalent networking certification (or 4+ years’ practical networking experience).
- Knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) protocols and MANET principles.
- Experience collaborating with customers and providing technical support.
- Experience with ITSM, Cyber Security, and Cloud environments is a plus.
- Defence, Intelligence, or Special Operations communications experience is desirable but not essential.
