We are now looking for a Mechatronics Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Leominster, supporting the development of advanced antenna positioner systems used across defence, government and commercial sectors. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for electromechanical design, robotics or automation systems who enjoys seeing projects through from concept to production.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will provide both electronic and mechanical engineering expertise to support the development of new antenna positioning systems and bespoke customer solutions. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams including RF, Mechanical, Electronic and Software Engineers, whilst also collaborating with Production, Commercial and Sales functions to deliver innovative and reliable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead motor sizing, control system selection and supporting design activities
  • Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and engineering documentation
  • Support software and GUI development for product control systems
  • Undertake prototype assembly, testing and validation
  • Participate in design reviews and engineering change processes
  • Support production testing and reliability documentation
  • Work collaboratively across Engineering, Production and Commercial teams
  • Ensure compliance with ISO9001 and company quality standards

What We Are Looking For

You will ideally have:

  • Experience within electromechanical design, robotics or automation systems
  • Strong problem-solving and technical decision-making skills
  • Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks
  • Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A hands‑on and flexible approach to engineering
  • An Engineering degree, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience
  • Eligibility for SC Clearance

Experience within defence, harsh environments or military applications would be advantageous but is not essential.
