About Our Customer
Our customer, a stealth-stage startup building the foundational intelligence infrastructure for the next generation of healthcare. Currently at Pre-Seed round to build our core product and launch it first pilot clients.
The Role
We are seeking a highly technical, hands-on Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join as a core member of the founding team. This is not a purely managerial role. At this stage, you will be the lead architect and primary builder of the platform. You will be responsible for taking company’s vision from architecture design to a fully functioning MVP and eventually scaling the engineering team post-funding. You must be comfortable writing production-grade code, designing complex data pipelines, and navigating the intersection of large language models (LLMs) and highly regulated healthcare data.
Key Responsibilities
- Hands-On Engineering & Architecture: Lead the end-to-end technical development of the MVP. Design and build scalable, secure, and HIPAA/GDPR-compliant data ingestion pipelines capable of handling heterogeneous clinical data. Architect the API layer that allows third-party clinical applications to seamlessly integrate.
- AI & Machine Learning Integration
- Technical Strategy & Leadership: Define the long-term technical roadmap, aligning engineering milestones with our funding stages (Pre-Seed to Seed, Series A and beyond). Make critical decisions regarding the technology stack, cloud infrastructure, and security protocols. As the company secures funding, transition from a solo builder to a technical leader—recruiting, mentoring, and managing a world-class engineering team.
- Compliance & Security: Ensure the platform architecture natively supports cross-jurisdictional compliance (UK MHRA, US FDA, EU GDPR, India CDSCO). Implement federated privacy architectures or secure enclave processing to ensure patient data always remains protected and compliant.
What We Are Looking For
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer, Lead Developer, or Technical Founder, ideally within a high-growth startup environment.
- Deep, hands-on expertise in modern backend development (e.g., Python, Go, Node.js) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Strong practical experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs), RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures, and NLP frameworks.
- Experience designing and building robust, scalable APIs for enterprise or B2B platforms.
Highly Desirable:
- Previous experience in HealthTech, MedTech, or working with clinical data standards (HL7 FHIR, SNOMED, ICD-11).
- Understanding of healthcare data security and compliance requirements (HIPAA, GDPR, DSPT).
- Experience building systems that require high levels of explainability, auditability, or regulatory oversight.
The Ideal Profile:
- A Builder: You love writing code and solving complex architectural problems. You are not looking to just manage a team from day one.
- A Pragmatist: You know how to balance technical perfection with the speed required to ship an MVP and secure early pilot clients.
- A Visionary: You understand and identify the massive potential of the product being built.
Compensation & Commitment
This is a Founding Team / Equity-Only role for the immediate Pre-Seed phase. You will receive a significant, founder-level equity stake in the company, commensurate with the risk and impact of joining at day zero.
How to Apply
If you are ready to build that will define the next decade of clinical AI, we want to hear from you. Please send your CV, a link to your GitHub/portfolio, and a brief note explaining why you are the right technical leader for this mission.
