The role: You will be the hands-on engine of our hardware production and testing capability, bringing our UAV platforms from engineering prototypes to deployment-ready systems. While we move fast and build for demanding environments, you will be fully supported and mentored by our senior engineering teams. As you develop your technical skills, your practical work will directly ensure our platforms are assembled, configured, and tested to perform flawlessly in the field. Guided by experienced engineers, you will actively build and integrate complex electronic and mechanical subsystems, ensuring our platforms are ruggedised for the field. From operating 3D printers for rapid prototyping to installing mission-critical payloads and conducting rigorous pre-deployment QA checks, you will be the final line of readiness. Assembly, integration, and troubleshooting are the core rhythm here — we build things, we test them hard, and with the backing of the wider team, you will ensure they are reliable and ready to perform when it counts.
What you will do:
- Support Engineers in the assembly, configuration, and testing of UAV platforms and subsystems.
- Configure drone platforms and perform quality assurance (QA) checks prior to deployment.
- Install and integrate additional hardware components and payload systems.
- Assemble, integrate, and test electronic and mechanical subsystems.
- Operate and maintain additive manufacturing equipment (3D printers) used for prototype and production components.
Essential skills/experience:
- Practical experience with mechanical and electronic assembly.
- Ability to follow technical documentation and engineering procedures.
- Experience operating workshop tools and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control practices.
Nice to have skills/experience:
- Basic electronics troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with 3D printing or additive manufacturing.
- A personal interest/commercial experience in the Drones/UAS space.
