A well-established technology consultancy is looking to hire UX Designers for full-time, permanent positions. This role is a great fit for individuals passionate about creating user-first digital services in agile environments.
Location: Remote-first, with occasional client site travel
Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum + benefits
Clearance: Must be eligible for SC Clearance (UK resident for the last 5 years with no trip abroad over 28 consecutive days)
Essential: Experience with GDS prototyping toolkit and coding experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/Nunjucks
Role Overview: We’re seeking a user experience designer who can take ownership of the design lifecycle from discovery through to delivery. You’ll be working alongside multidisciplinary teams to translate complex requirements into clear and usable experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply human-centred design approaches across service delivery phases
- Collaborate with researchers and other designers to shape and act on user insights
- Translate stakeholder needs into user-friendly, accessible design outcomes
- Present and defend design decisions based on user research and usability testing
- Produce UX assets such as personas, journey maps, interactive prototypes, and wireframes
- Develop digital and paper-based prototypes quickly to test ideas
- Contribute to inclusive design practices that meet accessibility standards
- Code low-fidelity or functional prototypes using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript when needed
Required Skills and Experience:
- Eligible for SC Clearance
- Hands-on experience applying Government Digital Service standards and design principles
- Familiarity with GDS prototyping toolkit
- Proficiency with industry-standard design software (e.g., Figma, Axure, Adobe XD, Sketch)
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
