User Researcher – Remote/UK – Β£450.00 Per Day Outside IR35

We are looking for an experienced User Researcher to join a government digital delivery team. You will plan, conduct, and analyse user research to ensure services are built around real user needs and meet the GDS Service Standard . Working closely with designers, product teams, and policy colleagues, you will help shape services that are simple, accessible, and effective for all users.

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience conducting user research for digital services.
  • Strong understanding of user-centred design, usability principles, and accessibility standards.
  • Experience working with the GOV.UK Design System and delivering services aligned to the GDS Service Standard .
  • Experience working on data-focused, digital transformation or AI-related projects
  • Experience working with machine learning, AI-augmented tools, or data-heavy platforms.
  • Ability to choose appropriate research methods and justify decisions.
  • Skilled in synthesising complex findings into clear, actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-engagement skills.
  • Experience working in Agile, multidisciplinary teams.
