The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 Β£ per year.
You will be part of a multi-disciplinary, agile delivery team, building and supporting high-quality Java-based services from design through to production. As a Senior or Lead Engineer, youβll also play a key role in mentoring others and helping to drive engineering best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver user stories as part of an agile, cross-functional team
- Design, develop, test, deploy and support Java services end to end
- Build RESTful APIs and microservices using modern Java and Spring Boot
- Work in a DevSecOps environment, using CI/CD, monitoring and automation tools
- Apply strong engineering practices including TDD, BDD and automated testing
- Support and mentor junior engineers, helping to raise technical standards
- Contribute to solution design, architecture and continuous improvement
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong commercial experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Experience building REST APIs and loosely coupled microservices
- Solid understanding of TDD, unit testing and integration testing
- Experience with open-source frameworks and modern development approaches
- Comfortable working in agile delivery environments
- Spring JPA, AOP, Transactions
- SQL and NoSQL databases
- Containers and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- CI/CD pipelines and application security principles
