My client is a global leading Digital Consultancy specialising in Cloud Adoption, Digital Architecture/Transformation & NextGen AI Solutions, with over 20+ office locations across the UK, offering a remote or hybrid working policy + ad hoc client site travel (Midlands or Sussex regions). We are looking for multiple Scala Software Engineers (ranging from Mid to Senior to Tech Lead) to join a dynamic team building solutions for a public sector client, building critical digital services from end-to-end working on a variety of projects featuring high-performance cloud platforms using Java based languages and technologies, and on-premise traditional infrastructure.
Primary requirements:
- Must be eligible for SC Clearance
- Strong professional experience with Scala and functional programming
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs; JSON validation/serialisation using Play JSON or Circe
- Designing for and querying relational databases such as PostgreSQL and/or NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
- Writing unit and integration tests using technology such as ScalaTest, Specs2 and Mockito while following TDD/BDD
- Familiarity with SBT for build/CI/CD automation and GIT with branching strategies
- Solid understanding of web/HTTP, web security best practices, and performance considerations
- Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and containerisation
- Spring JPA, AOP, Transactions, SQL and NoSQL databases, containers and container management platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes is desirable
- Experience of Cloud based infrastructure is desirable, along with an understanding of application security principles, continuous integration and continuous delivery
