We are seeking an experienced Software Developer to join a major public sector digital transformation programme, helping deliver secure, scalable and user-focused services that support critical UK operations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain high-quality software using Java
Write clean, secure, reusable code using Test Driven Development (TDD)
Build and maintain integrations using JSON, JSLT and Drools
Support systems design, integration and prototyping activities
Ensure services are secure, resilient and performant
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
Contribute to development standards and engineering best practices
Mentor junior developers and support team growth
Essential Skills
Strong commercial experience with Java
Experience with JSON, JSLT and Drools
Systems Design and Systems Integration experience
Knowledge of Information Security principles
Experience supporting live services in production
Understanding of Availability & Capacity Management
Strong focus on user-centred digital service delivery
Experience working in Agile environments
