Role: Microsoft Fabric Engineer
Rate: £438 per day (Inside IR35)
Location: Liverpool (Hybrid preferred) | Candidates based further afield will be considered, with occasional travel to the Liverpool office required

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Fabric Engineer to join a major digital transformation programme. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on data professional with strong Microsoft Fabric expertise to design, build, and optimise modern data solutions that support Business Intelligence and data-driven decision making.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing scalable data platforms, creating robust data models, delivering insightful Power BI reporting solutions, and enabling business users through training and best practice guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain data solutions using Microsoft Fabric
- Build and optimise data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration workflows
- Develop and maintain semantic models to support enterprise reporting and analytics
- Create high-quality, user-focused Power BI dashboards and reports
- Ensure data models are scalable, efficient, and aligned to business requirements
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Provide training, mentoring, and best practice guidance to report developers and business users
- Troubleshoot and resolve data quality, performance, and reporting issues
- Support data governance, documentation, and data architecture standards
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams across the organisation
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric
- Expertise in data engineering , data modelling , and semantic layer design
- Advanced SQL development skills
- Strong experience building and optimising ETL/data pipeline solutions
- Extensive experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI
- Experience delivering user training, coaching, and knowledge
