About the Company

We are working with a leading global business and technology consultancy that helps some of the world’s largest organisations navigate complex transformation programmes. The organisation brings together strategy, technology, data, design and delivery, working closely with clients to solve challenging business problems and deliver large-scale change. Its work spans major corporate and public-sector organisations across industries including financial services, government, energy, retail and other highly regulated environments. The business has a significant international presence, with hundreds of thousands of employees across 50+ countries, and a long-established reputation for delivering technology-led transformation at scale.

The Role

We are looking for a Technical Project Manager at Managing Consultant level to join a growing Business Technology and Digital Acceleration consulting team. You will work with large-scale organisations on complex technology transformation programmes, helping clients move from strategy through to implementation. This is a consulting role rather than a purely internal project management position. You will work directly with senior client stakeholders, delivery teams and third-party suppliers, providing leadership across projects and helping clients navigate technical change and its wider business impact. There will also be opportunities to contribute to the wider consulting practice through business development, proposition development and internal initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership – Lead complex technology projects and multidisciplinary delivery teams, working closely with client teams and third-party suppliers to deliver against agreed objectives.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management – Build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels, from delivery teams through to senior and executive leadership.
  • Technical & Business Translation – Understand technical change and communicate its implications clearly to business stakeholders, producing appropriate reports, presentations and decision-making material.
  • Programme Delivery – Take ownership of project plans, dependencies, risks, issues, governance and delivery milestones, ensuring projects remain aligned to client objectives.
  • Budget & Commercial Management – Manage project budgets and financial responsibilities, maintaining control of costs and supporting successful delivery within agreed parameters.
  • Business Development – Contribute to proposals, RFPs, bids and client pitches, as well as supporting proposition development and account growth.
  • Practice Development – Contribute to internal initiatives, thought leadership, campaigns, knowledge sharing and development of the wider consulting practice.
  • Continuous Development – Take advantage of structured learning, professional training and certification opportunities to continue developing your consulting and technical expertise.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong experience leading technology or digital transformation projects within a consulting or client-facing environment.
  • Experience managing project teams and working with third-party suppliers and technology partners.
  • The confidence to engage with and present to stakeholders ranging from technical delivery teams through to senior and executive leadership.
  • The ability to translate complex technical changes into clear, commercially and operationally relevant information for business stakeholders.
  • Strong project governance experience, including budgets, timelines, risks, dependencies and delivery planning.
  • Experience working in a consultancy environment, ideally with exposure to business development, proposals, RFPs, bids or client pitches.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to operate effectively in complex client environments.
  • A genuine interest in technology transformation and helping organisations adopt new ways of working.

Why Join?

You will be joining a large, established technology consulting practice working on major transformation programmes with some of the UK's and world's best-known organisations. The business offers exposure to complex, high-profile projects and the opportunity to work across different industries, technologies and client environments. There is also a strong focus on developing consultants through training, professional certifications, internal communities and opportunities to contribute beyond individual client engagements. The organisation places significant emphasis on flexible and hybrid working, employee wellbeing, inclusion and career development, alongside opportunities to work on projects that have a wider social and environmental impact.

Location & Working

The role can be based from London, Manchester or Glasgow, with flexibility around assignment locations depending on client requirements. The role operates on a hybrid basis, although consultants should be comfortable travelling to client sites when required, potentially including periods away from home depending on the assignment. A competitive remuneration package is offered, including flexible benefits and a performance-related variable element.

About the Organisation

Our client is a global business and technology transformation consultancy with more than 340,000 employees across 50+ countries. The organisation works across the full transformation lifecycle, combining strategy, design, technology, engineering, AI, cloud, data, architecture, security and change to help organisations tackle complex business challenges. With more than five decades of experience and annual global revenues exceeding €20bn, it has the scale and breadth to deliver major transformation programmes while continuing to invest heavily in emerging technologies and new consulting capabilities. The business is also committed to responsible technology, inclusion, sustainability and creating a positive social impact through the work it delivers for clients and communities.

If you're an experienced Technical Project Manager looking for a consulting environment where you can work on large-scale transformation programmes, engage directly with senior clients and continue developing your consulting career, we'd be keen to hear from you.
