We’re partnering with a well-regarded IT services firm that delivers digital transformation solutions to public sector clients. They’re looking to onboard a permanent User Researcher with experience working in GDS-aligned environments.
Location: Remote-first, occasional travel to client locations
Security Clearance: Must be eligible for SC Clearance
Key Requirement: Familiarity with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and practices
As a User Researcher, you’ll be central to uncovering the needs and behaviours of end-users and ensuring digital services are designed with them in mind. You’ll collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver actionable insights that shape inclusive and effective user experiences.
- Design and lead research activities throughout the project lifecycle — from discovery to implementation
- Choose and apply the most effective research techniques (e.g., interviews, usability testing, surveys, diary studies) based on the context
- Generate and present insights that support evidence-based decision-making in agile delivery teams
- Engage with stakeholders to align research goals with user and business needs
- Analyse both qualitative and quantitative data to inform product or service improvements
- Champion user-centred practices across the organisation and help embed research into delivery processes
Requirements:
- Proven experience conducting user research across different delivery phases
- Solid understanding of GDS standards and how they influence service design
- Ability to work independently as a lead researcher within agile teams
- Skilled in selecting and applying appropriate research methodologies
- Comfortable communicating research findings through storytelling and visualisation
- Familiar with tools used for in-person and remote research, and experience testing concepts using prototypes
