A leading IT consultancy is looking to hire an experienced Senior Front End Engineer to work on large-scale digital platforms and user-facing services. You’ll be joining collaborative, agile teams delivering accessible, secure and high-performing web applications.
This is a great opportunity to work on meaningful projects using modern front-end technologies while influencing UI standards and best practices.
Locations: Manchester, Telford, Worthing, Leeds, Bristol & London
Hybrid working: 2 days onsite per week
Salary: £55,000 – £80,000 per annum
Candidates must be eligible for SC Clearance
The Role: As a Senior Front End Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing and building rich, user-focused web applications. You’ll work closely with back-end engineers, designers and product teams to deliver accessible, secure and scalable front-end solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop responsive, high-quality user interfaces
- Build rich web applications using React and/or Angular
- Collaborate with back-end teams to integrate with RESTful APIs
- Ensure applications meet accessibility and usability standards
- Apply best practices around performance, security and code quality
- Contribute to UI architecture, reusable components and design systems
- Work collaboratively using Git-based version control
Skills & Experience Required:
- Strong experience building front-end applications with React and/or Angular
- Excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and TypeScript
- Experience integrating front-end applications with REST APIs
- Good understanding of web security principles, including OAuth2.0 and JWT
- Proven experience designing accessible and user-friendly UIs
- Familiarity with Node.js, NPM and modern front-end tooling
- Comfortable working in agile, multi-disciplinary teams
Desirable Experience:
- Experience contributing to design systems or component libraries
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for front-end applications
- Performance optimisation and cross-browser compatibility
- Mentoring junior developers or providing technical guidance
