We are seeking an experienced
Content Designer
to join a high-profile public sector programme, helping to create clear, accessible, and user-centred content across digital government services.

You will work within multidisciplinary agile teams to design content that meets user needs while adhering to Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and accessibility requirements.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in content design within government or public sector environments and be comfortable working closely with user researchers, service designers, business analysts, and developers.

Key Responsibilities
Design, write, edit, and manage content for digital services and user journeys.

Create clear, concise, and accessible content aligned with
GDS Service Standard
and GOV.

UK style guidelines.

Use evidence from user research, analytics, and stakeholder engagement to inform content decisions.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across agile delivery environments.

Develop content models, information architecture, and content strategies.

Conduct content audits and identify opportunities for content improvement.

Ensure all content meets
WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards .

Translate complex policy, legislation, and technical information into plain English.

Support service assessments and contribute to service design activities.

Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience working as a
Content Designer
within UK Government or Public Sector organisations.

Strong understanding of
GDS standards , GOV.

UK style guide, and content design principles.

Experience designing content for digital services and transactional user journeys.

Demonstrable experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams.

Knowledge of user-centred design (UCD) methodologies.

Experience conducting content audits and content strategy development.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Ability to write and edit content in plain English for diverse audiences.

Experience using analytics and user research insights to improve content.

Desirable Experience
Experience supporting services through
