Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Technical Cyber Consultant (Security Architect) to support public sector digital and technology programmes by embedding security early in project lifecycles. The role focuses on defining security requirements, conducting threat modelling, and advising delivery teams on proportionate, technically sound security controls.
You will work closely with technical design and delivery teams, operating independently to identify threats, assess risks, and recommend architectural and control-based mitigations across cloud, on-prem, and application environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and define security requirements aligned to the Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF)
- Facilitate and participate in group threat-modelling sessions with technical delivery teams
- Produce clear threat statements as outputs of threat-modelling activities
- Undertake independent research to:
- Identify emerging and system-specific threats
- Produce structured threat analysis reports early in project discovery phases
- AWS cloud environments
- On-prem infrastructure
- Application and platform security configurations
- Security-related threats
- Risks and issues
- Design and architectural weaknesses
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong experience working as a Security Architect or Technical Cyber Consultant in complex environments
- Proven ability to:
- Define security requirements
- Translate threats into actionable security controls
- Adversarial techniques
- Mapping threats to logging and monitoring requirements
- AWS security services and control patterns
- On-prem and hybrid architectures
- Application-level security controls
