Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the product roadmap for one or more digital services.
- Define product vision, goals, and measurable outcomes aligned to DWP priorities.
- Gather and prioritise user requirements using data, analytics, and user research.
- Work closely with Delivery Managers, Business Analysts, Service Designers, Developers, and Architects.
- Manage and refine the product backlog using Agile methodologies.
- Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, prioritisation, and acceptance criteria definition.
- Engage with senior stakeholders across business and technology functions.
- Ensure services meet Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and accessibility requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement using KPIs, service metrics, and user feedback.
- Support discovery, alpha, beta, and live service phases.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and delivery blockers and help resolve them.
- Contribute to governance, reporting, and product documentation.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Product Manager within large-scale digital transformation programmes.
- Experience working within UK Government, public sector, or highly regulated environments.
- Strong knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies including Scrum and Kanban.
- Experience managing digital products throughout the full product lifecycle.
- Ability to prioritise competing requirements and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary delivery teams.
- Strong understanding of user-centred design principles.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar tooling.
- Experience defining KPIs, OKRs, and service performance metrics.
