We are seeking a skilled Java Developer with strong experience across Java, Node.js, and AWS to support large-scale digital transformation projects within a secure public-sector environment. You will join a collaborative engineering team focused on delivering secure, scalable and high-quality services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and optimise backend services using Java and Node.js
- Build and deploy applications on AWS following best practices
- Work within an Agile delivery team, contributing to sprints, ceremonies and code reviews
- Collaborate with architects, product owners and other engineers to deliver high-impact features
- Ensure code quality, security and performance are upheld
- Support CI/CD processes, testing and automation
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience with Java (core + modern frameworks)
- Hands-on experience with Node.js
- Proven background delivering solutions in AWS environments
- Understanding of microservices, APIs and distributed systems
- Experience working in Agile / DevOps environments
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native tooling
Desirable
- Previous experience working in public-sector or secure environments
- Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Exposure to containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes)
