We are seeking a highly experienced HR Director to support a large and complex business unit within a leading technology services organisation. Reporting into senior HR leadership with close alignment to operational leadership, this is a key strategic role responsible for shaping and delivering the people agenda across a significant employee population.
The successful candidate will lead workforce strategy aligned to business objectives, enabling organisational growth, talent development, operational excellence, and long-term capability building. This is a strategic yet hands-on leadership role requiring expertise across transformation, workforce planning, talent management, employee relations, and senior stakeholder engagement.
This is a hybrid role, with a blend of office, stakeholder site, and home working depending on business requirements. Pre-employment screening will include BPSS checks, including identity verification, right to work/employment history review, and criminal record screening where applicable.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a strategic HR partner on major business initiatives, transitions, and transformation programmes.
- Partner with senior leaders to shape workforce strategy aligned to commercial and operational priorities.
- Coach and influence senior leadership teams while embedding consistent people and talent standards.
- Lead strategic workforce planning, succession planning, and organisational design for critical business functions.
- Manage complex employee relations matters within large, matrixed environments.
- Drive employee engagement, culture, diversity, equity & inclusion initiatives across hybrid and distributed teams.
- Champion HR technology, automation, digital tools, and AI-enabled service improvements.
- Use workforce data, people analytics, and insights to inform strategic decision-making and measure impact.
- Support governance, compliance, and HR risk management across multiple business units.
- Represent the organisation in relevant external industry forums and professional networks.
- Significant experience in a senior HR leadership role within a large, complex, matrixed organisation.
- Background in technology services, consulting, IT services, or related professional services environments preferred.
- Proven ability to influence, coach, and challenge senior stakeholders and executive leaders.
- Strong track record delivering HR transformation, operating model redesign, and workforce change initiatives.
- Deep expertise in talent management, workforce transformation, employee engagement, and organisational culture.
- Experience supporting employee populations of 2,000+ within fast-paced environments.
- Strong commercial acumen with ability to connect people strategy to business performance and operational outcomes.
- Experience leveraging people analytics and workforce data for strategic planning and decision-making.
- Strong understanding of HR governance, compliance, and risk frameworks.
- High levels of integrity, discretion, and sound commercial judgement.
